The Chartering Department of Cerrahgil, with its comprehensive understanding of high quality and standards, commitment and work ethic, is responsible to charter home fleets and third party tonnage for the company’s Contracted Freights. These are Turkish Steel Mills and other international cargo importers and exporters in Turkey and worldwide. As a consequence of working with most of the major international importers, Cerrahgil has become one of the major companies in Turkey which has acquired a first hand knowledge of global standards.

Cerrahgil has a century long history of long term servicing agreements with our domestic and overseas clients. These include steel firms and import and export trading enterprises. Contracts of Affreightment from Turkish Steel Mills – Erdemir for the carriage of coking coal, iron ore or slabs from Australia, South Africa, India, USA, South America and Northern Europe are regularly upheld and carried out using our owned panamax / kamsarmax tonnages along with chartered in tonnages which varies from handysize upto capesize from major international owners and operators.

The cargo thus transported has included such grains as wheat, barley, corn and soya, as well as coal, iron ore, steel, fertilizer and scrap.

Moreover, Cerrahgil controls one of the largest shipment volumes in Turkey when compared to its peers. In tonnage the annual shipment volume, including both home and chartered, of the Company is approximately 5,000,000 Mtons.
