The Chartering Department of Cerrahgil, with its comprehensive understanding of high quality and standards, commitment and work ethic, is responsible to charter home fleets and third party tonnage for the company’s Contracted Freights. These are Turkish Steel Mills, Turkish Grain board and other international cargo importers in Turkey and worldwide. As a consequence of working with most of the major international importers, Cerrahgil has become one of the major companies in Turkey which has acquired a first hand knowledge of global standards.
Moreover, Cerrahgil has one of the largest shipment volumes in Turkey when compared to its peers. In tonnage the annual shipment volume, including both home and chartered, of the Company is approximately 5,000,000 Mtons.

In addition to the Company’s own tonnage, which includes Panamaxes, Cerrahgil is also highly involved with chartering tonnage from Handysize to Capesize. The vessels are chartered both on a voyage basis and on time charter trips depending on the market conditions.  

Throughout the years in which Cerrahgil has been evolving as an enterprise in its sector, it has developed trusted partnerships to accommodate the needs of the ferrous and non-ferrous industry and long-lasting relationship with brokerage houses, charterers and ship owners. As a result of these partnerships, Cerrahgil has proven its determination, strength and ability to adapt to every possible situation, responding well even to the challenging situations brought about by crises in the Turkish economy. Unsurprisingly, Cerrahgil has continuously been active in the market to be able to cover spot and contractual cargo from Handy to Capesize.

Cerrahgil’s charter services, on a voyage or time basis include, actively operating vessels on the principals behalf, dry cargo T/C operating for the Cerrahgil account, guidance on freight rates, providing port disbursements and detailed operational information, and laytime calculations.
